The Park & Life

Everyone has a routine. Not having a routine is also a routine. Some of us may start our routine by hitting the gym, Yoga, or some other physical activities which can keep us healthy and active; some may hit the snooze button of the clock for that just 5 more mins of sleep! Not to miss, some of us go for morning walks everyday in The Park.

Some people start their day before the sunrise and some after the sunrise. Each one of us have a different pattern of the day, habits and so the routine! I have started (re-started) going for the morning walks in The Park and roughly spend 30 mins a day. I have observed people with different patterns. Some have been walking before I entered the park and they continue to walk though I am done and some come after me and leave before me. There are other people who have gotten ready to work or college and sitting in the park and some finished their walk and stay little more while sitting and chatting with their friends. They seem to be in no hurry to head back home or elsewhere. People would have made friends during their walk schedule as they would visit the park everyday same time.

I witness that while some people walk, some jog and just run. I am sure you must have too! I also observe children playing while their guardians sit and watch them and few senior citizens who have lost energy to walk, yet they don’t want to give up. They walk slowly or walk with a stick or some have their children/grandchildren accompanying them. I witness this almost everyday. This is the story of every park.

The park has a healing power in abundance. After all it’s mother nature. Be it physical or mental health. She shall cure it all for you if you stay connected to her as a ritual. Talking about health it reminds me of the most common ailment in the current generation is depression and anxiety, which is caused due to other’s success or happiness. I am sure you will all agree with me. All ailments can be healed but this one is tough.

We often compare our life with others. This comparison has only one outcome i.e., “We are a big Failure” while “others are very successful and happy”. This is happening among Students, professionals and in communities. Everyone is busy running a rat race. Everyone wants to be successful and ahead of everyone. The race that destroys peace of mind and happiness. In my opinion, the basis for this whole situation is our lifestyle and the mediums we rely on for the information. Our lives and behaviours are being manipulated to fall prey for Social Media and business institutions. Like how basis people’s posts and status update we compare, conclude and then worry. What we observe, so we absorb and reflect.

Similar to the people and events that happen in the park, each one of us are unique and are gifted with unique abilities. We have different priorities and lifestyles too. It’s a different journey altogether. Instead of worrying about others who came early to the park or late, who is ahead or behind; or who reap more benefits from it than you, you must appreciate your journey about the fact that you could make it to the park today and shall come back each day with same get-up-and-go spirit. Do not waste your energy worrying about who is behind or ahead of you or who did not even make it to the park today!
